MALIN AND BEATRICE WING CELEBRATE 72nd ANNIVERSARY


Malin and Beatrice (Bea) Wing of Sedona, Arizona are celebrating their 72nd Wedding Anniversary on August 10th. Malin turned 99 this July and Bea turns 98 on August 7th.

Malin and Bea both learned bridge in High School and have played all their lives. They moved to Sedona 34 years ago and have been active in the Sedona Oak Creek Duplicate Bridge clubs for most of this time. Malin walks daily, at least two miles. Bea still drives a car.

Although Malin had to cease playing active bridge two years ago, Bea is still quite a player. She partnered with Marie Lazar to win First Place (East/West) in the December 18th, 2006 Unit #355 Championship / Christmas Party. This event had 18 tables of the best competition in Sedona/Flagstaff/Cottonwood area.

Besides bridge, Malin and Bea have an extreme interest in music and ballroom dancing. They met each other at ballroom dancing and spent many years active in this hobby.

Malin belongs to a men’s jazz club that meets weekly. Recently, this group had a surprise birthday party for him. The couple has an extensive collection of music albums. Every Saturday night, Malin and Bea listen to Lawrence Welk music on television.

A Pot Luck Luncheon was held Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Sedona Bridge Center to celebrate Malin and Bea’s birthday and wedding anniversary’s. Our best wishes to Malin and Bea for many Happy Years ahead.
